Sage Grouse Will Not Be Listed

It was annouced today that the Sage Grouse will not be listed as endangered or threatened species. The Billings Gazette has a story on it this afternoon. The sage grouse population will still be monitored, and classified as a species for federal protection ranchers and the energy industry will have little more room to breathe when it comes to developing land. Many ranchers include practices in their overall range management to promote sage grouse habitation and growth. Simple things like rotational grazing and placing boards and ramps in the water tank help the sage grouse population.
